The choir organ of Bellelay Abbey
The overall picture formed by the organs of the former Abbey of Bellelay at the beginning of the eighteenth century was to become reality again with the building of the choir organ, just after that of the regal organ and the reconstruction of the great organ.
The building of the choir organ was made possible thanks to extensive research by Dr François Seydoux and sensational photos discovered in the public library of La Chaux-de-Fonds. Essential information was also found in the workshop book of the Bossard family organ builders. The choir organs of the abbey church in Muri were used as practical models: details of the case construction, actions and windchests, as well as wind supplies.
The scalings and sounds of the pipes served as examples for this new choir organ.
